Scotland’s West Highland Way Trek

Meet Doug Cutter: Adventurer, Explorer & Client

Doug CutterNine years ago I experienced my first adventure travel trip and immediately became hooked. I dreamed about visiting much more of the world, and although I wasn’t quite sure where I wanted go, I was thrilled so many possibilities existed. This being my 15th adventure trip in nine years, the West Highland Way trek now tops my list of adventure travel experiences. I was expecting a 95-mile walk surrounded by beautiful scenery, people, local traditional meals and brews, some rainy days and a well planned itinerary. I got it all! However my expectations were exceeded far beyond what I had imagined.

I really enjoyed the trip itinerary Mike put together. The lodging was excellent, and most mornings began with a traditional Scottish breakfast to energize us for a few hours of walking while my favorite evening meals were the meat pies and a side of haggis washed down with a local pint. Some days were challenging, others were easy. We even made some impromptu changes along the way that enriched the whole trip, and our day trip to historic Edinburgh and the castle was the perfect ending to this adventure.

Scotland Trip Highlights

The friendliness of everyone along the Way was awesome, and I now have friends in England, Belgium, Holland, Northern Ireland, Canada, Switzerland, and of course, Scotland. It’s simply amazing to me how close we’ve all become and is a tribute to this adventure! If you are a walker this is a trip of a life time. Just go do it!
