Ireland ClassicsWith the history and culture wrapped up in the tranquil beauty and charm of Ireland, our adventure is a walk through time and tradition as you experience the diversity of this ancestral land.
We begin our journey in Wicklow National Park. We’ll hike on exceptional trails through the open beauty of the heath and blanket bog moors, often seeing red stag/Sitka deer. While in Glendalough, we'll visit the ruins of St. Kevin’s Monastery, which dates back to 570 AD and end each day with a traditional Irish dinner and of course, a pint of Guinness at the local pub! Then we’ll travel by train to Kerry County and the spectacular Dingle Peninsula, where each turn in the path reveals a dramatic change of scenery. From walking beside the magnificent ruin of the 16th century Minard Castle to crossing the shoulder of Mount Brandon, from the crashing waves of the Atlantic at Slea Head and the Blasket Islands to the serenity of meadows colored by brilliant shades of green, The Dingle Way will invigorate your senses.
We'll encounter some of the finest archeological sites in Ireland including standing stones, ogham stones and a multitude of 6th century beehive huts. We’ll stop at the South Pole Inn in Annascaul – a shrine to local Antarctic explorer Tom Crean who served on three major British expeditions to the South Pole. Our lodging will be first rate. In Wicklow we’ll stay three nights at our favorite hotel in Glendalough, and while hiking the Dingle Way, we use local guesthouses and B & B’s as we travel from village to village. This is truly a classic – a journey for the ages, and should definitely be on your “must do list!” Getting ThereThe major airlines continue to offer lower fares. Roundtrip flights from Omaha to Dublin are as little as $619! Now is a great time to explore with WorldWide Trekking and experience Ireland for yourself! Outstanding ServiceDear {first_name}, Recently a friend was looking for a mechanic that would provide outstanding service and go the extra mile for her. While we don’t repair autos, we LOVE going the extra mile (literally) so our guests have the best possible experiences trekking around mountains and coastlines! When we say we’re passionate about what we do, we mean it. Our zeal and zest for outdoor adventures is second to none! Our service begins even before your adventure starts. We schedule weekly training hikes in our local area to fit your schedule. While hiking, you can get to know your guide(s) and get pointers to help you become a confident and prepared hiker. In fact, we’ve even done training hikes on a minus 7 degree day. Now that’s service! If you like, we’ll advise you on clothing and equipment which will enhance your comfort and performance and keep your expenses to a minimum. We’ll shop with you at one of our local outfitters. Not near Omaha? Just give us a call! If we will do all that before your trip, just imagine what service you’ll get when we depart! So when you’re ready for a new adventure, look for the company who’ll go that extra mile in service and give you the satisfying experience you deserve. Mike Johnson, Owner and Guide
