Inn to Inn Hiking in Ireland • May 2010
Trip Difficulty and Training: Level II – III (Get information about Levels.)
Ireland. The Emerald Isle where you’ll find 40 shades of green. Come with us on this beautiful journey as hike in what are arguably the two finest areas in Ireland, the Wicklow Mountains and the Dingle Peninsula, both spectacular and both uniquely different. Our treks will be with daypacks as we travel through this magical countryside with it charming villages, staying each night at a local inn. Hike through the heather and moors as we journey through the Wicklow Mountains, Ireland’s largest mountainous region and an area rich in history as we visit Glendalough, the “garden of Ireland”. We’ll then travel to the Dingle Peninsula where we trade mountains for sandy beaches and spectacular cliffs of the coast and the sea. Because of its history, the Irish culture and language perhaps more prevalent here and you’ll experience this firsthand on this active adventure.
We’ll stay in various guesthouses and B & B’s as we travel from village to village, taking in the breath-taking scenery and the warmth and hospitality of hosts.
The scenery will inspire you, the people and their culture will captivate and enthrall you, and you’ll understand why so many return.
