Our Itinerary

Day 1

Afternoon arrival in Laramie and check into the Comfort Inn Hotel at 3420 Grand Ave. Our guides will meet you in the hotel lobby at 5:00 p.m. for introductions, from which we’ll head into old town Laramie for our traditional reception dinner.

Day 2

Meet in the hotel lobby at 9:00 a.m. from where we’ll drive the 40 miles to our destination. Upon arrival we’ll go over basic outdoor skills like navigation, equipment, and backpacking technique before hiking approximately 5 miles to our first camp.

Day 3

After breakfast we’ll break camp and continue on our trek, hiking roughly another 5 miles to our last backcountry site.

Day 4

We'll take a short hike out to our vehicles. Then with only light daypacks, we’ll climb to the summit of Medicine Bow Peak (12,013’) for a beautiful view of the Medicine Bow National Forest, Rocky Mountain National Park, and the Mt. Zirkel Wilderness. On our descent we’ll hike along the base of the range alongside Lookout Lake. In the afternoon, we’ll drive a short distance to Saratoga where we’ll soak in the renowned Hobo Spa Mineral Springs. Our lodging tonight will be in the historic Wolf Hotel, where we’ll have our celebration dinner.

Day 5

After saying good-byes we’ll depart for home, with long lasting memories of this exciting adventure guiding us to another trip.
